Engine codes are designed to logically group engines based on model, series, revision and specifications. The goal is that a short code can reasonably explain the model and level of advancement of the specs for that model. Now this is tricky because it is basically impossible to reference a number to the years, makes and models of the cars an engine may be compatible with. So, what to do??
